The Anti-FAD Manifesto

Every diet has a rule. We built a number instead.

We named this thing FAD on purpose.

Every few years, a new diet shows up promising to be the one that finally works. It has a rule. The rule is simple. The rule is also, eventually, wrong for enough people that the next diet arrives to replace it.

We got tired of the cycle. Not because the individual diets are all nonsense — plenty of them contain real, useful ideas — but because they're all optimising for the same narrow thing: a number on a scale, or a macro ratio, or a list of foods you're not allowed to enjoy.

None of that tells you how you'll feel tomorrow

We think the more useful question isn't "how many calories" or "how many carbs" — it's "did today calm my body down or wind it up?" That's an inflammation question, and until recently, almost nobody outside a research lab was asking it about their actual daily life.

So we built the anti-fad diet

No banned foods. No macro math. No 30-day resets. Just five honest inputs — food, sleep, alcohol, exercise, stress — rolled into one number that tries to answer the only question that actually matters day to day: is this pattern building you up, or breaking you down?

We might be wrong about some of the details. We're refining the model as we learn. But we're confident the question is the right one — which is more than most fads can say.

We say what we actually think
