The scoring model, its current basis, and exactly what would need to happen for us to call it "validated."
Where we are today: the FAD Score weighting model (Food 40% / Sleep 20% / Alcohol 15% / Exercise 15% / Stress 10%) is our first version, built from published research across each pillar. It has not yet been validated against real biomarker outcomes at scale — this page will be updated as that changes.
Each pillar's sub-signals were chosen based on consistent findings across nutrition, sleep, exercise physiology and stress research — see the Research library for the fields and figures we drew on. The weightings reflect our best current judgment about relative contribution to inflammatory load, not a single definitive study.
The gold standard would be tracking FAD Scores against real inflammatory biomarkers (like hs-CRP) across a large group of users over time, to see whether the score's direction and magnitude actually track clinical measurements. That study hasn't happened yet.
As THE FAD gathers real usage data, we intend to publish what we learn — including where the model performs well and where it needs adjustment — openly on this page, rather than quietly changing numbers behind the scenes.
